Best AI models and workflows for character consistency
Use Soul 2.0/Soul ID to establish a synthetic identity, then reference-led Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0 for motion. FLUX.2 is an alternate image workflow. Input-reference support does not establish a measured identity-retention rate.

Who should pick what?
Soul 2.0
A consistent synthetic persona workflow. Start with Soul when the job is an identity-led persona rather than a one-off illustration. Soul ID is the companion workflow for retaining a character across sessions; it is not a guarantee of identical output.
Seedance 2.5
Reference-led stories and selective edits. The strongest capability fit in this shortlist for a reference-heavy brief or a clip longer than 15 seconds. Thirty-second output and editing are documented; consistency still needs human inspection.
Seedance 2.0
Multimodal reference workflows. Keep 2.0 on the shortlist when the reference pipeline or its exposed 4K setting matters more than 2.5 editing features. Confirm the selected variant before spending credits.
FLUX.2
Reference-led image composition. Consider FLUX.2 for a brief built around reference imagery and deliberate composition. Its pro/flex/max variants should be compared on equivalent settings.
Ordering reflects editorial workflow fit, not an original quality benchmark or paid placement.
Choose the workflow, not the demo.
More references are not automatically better. Conflicting age, lighting, hair or facial structure can weaken the identity brief; a small coherent set is easier to audit.
From brief to output.
- Make a compact identity sheet before generating scenes.
- Choose consistent front, profile and three-quarter references.
- Lock the identity description and change only the action or environment.
- Compare each output against the reference sheet and reject drift.
A concrete starting brief.
Use the reference persona unchanged: same facial structure, age, hair and eye color. Show a three-quarter portrait in a quiet bookshop. Change only the setting; maintain the established wardrobe and natural proportions.
Suggested settings: use the aspect ratio required by delivery, the shortest valid duration for the scene, and the exact reference roles exposed in the model picker. No unverified preset or credit estimate is implied.
Inspect the actual image runs.
One generation per model per prompt (n=1). This is a snapshot, not a statistical ranking. Each model ran at its Higgsfield default resolution; GPT Image 2 used medium quality. Native sizes differ. Credits are preflight estimates, not verified billed usage.
Identity caveat: the Nano Banana Pro request returned backend nano_banana_2. Its
images are not confirmed Pro outputs; both IDs remain visible.

Soul 2.0
Editorial observations: AURA is legible but looks recessed and blue-tinted rather than silver embossed. The slate is relatively dry with sparse droplets. A cyan rim runs across the upper edge.

Prompt and generation provenance
Studio product photo of a matte black wireless earbud case on a wet slate surface, soft blue rim light, tiny water droplets, the word AURA embossed in silver on the lid, shallow depth of field, premium advertising look

Soul 2.0
Editorial observations: The woman laughs over a cropped bowl with visible steam. Skin texture and grain give a phone-photo feel. A red sign and ceiling lights reflect in the window; there is little obvious motion blur.

Prompt and generation provenance
Candid smartphone photo of a young woman laughing in a busy ramen shop at night, steam rising from her bowl, neon signs reflected in the window behind her, natural skin texture, slight motion blur, authentic UGC feel

Continue the decision.
Before you choose.
Do more reference images always improve identity?
We have not measured that. Our guidance is to use a small coherent set rather than conflicting ages, lighting and facial features. Input support is documented; identity retention still requires visual review.
Which reference video mode should I use in Seedance 2.5?
The dated Higgsfield catalog distinguishes omni_reference, video_edit and video_extension. In video_edit, duration and aspect_ratio inputs are ignored and billing follows the source video duration. Inspect those controls before preflighting an edit.
Are these recommendations based on original matched benchmarks?
Not at launch. These are editorial workflow choices based on cited, dated capabilities. Published original tests require the files, exact settings and provenance; no measured overall winner is claimed.
Which Higgsfield subscription includes these choices?
Starter advertises selected models; Plus and Ultra advertise broader access with rolling-release caveats. Exact variant entitlements are not verified here. Inspect the model lock and checkout before paying.
