AI model API and MCP server — What’s That Model?
The public read-only API and stateless MCP endpoint expose the same curated model records used by this site. Responses include reasoning, unknowns, verification dates and source URLs. Optional affiliate access links are explicitly labeled commercial.
MCP endpoint
URL: https://whatsthatmodel.com/mcp. Streamable HTTP, stateless, no authentication. JSON-only and wildcard Accept headers, null params and small JSON-RPC batches are accepted for compatibility. Rate limit: 60 requests per minute per client address.
Tools: find_model, compare_models, get_model, best_model_for, list_models, where_to_use, get_trending_workflows, get_prompt_tips. These tools are read-only and do not generate media or buy subscriptions.

Capability values carry their own source URL and verified date; null means not verified. An editorial verdict is not an original benchmark. Our structured records are CC BY 4.0.
action_url is an object with url, commercial, affiliate and label. Commercial Higgsfield actions are optional access context relevant to the selected model; they are never an unlabeled recommendation guarantee. We do not provide provider API credentials or run generation jobs.
